The MQ-8 Gas Sensor Module is a reliable and cost-effective solution designed to detect the presence of Hydrogen (H₂) gas in the air. It is widely used in gas leakage detection systems, safety devices, and industrial monitoring applications due to its high sensitivity and stable performance.
The MQ-8 sensor operates based on the change in conductivity of a metal oxide (SnO₂) sensing material. In clean air, the sensor exhibits low conductivity, but when hydrogen gas is present, the conductivity increases proportionally with the gas concentration. This change is converted into an electrical signal using a simple circuit, allowing easy detection and monitoring.
With a detection range of 100 to 10,000 ppm, the MQ-8 sensor provides accurate and fast response to hydrogen gas presence. It also shows good performance in detecting hydrogen-containing gases while maintaining minimal interference from ethanol vapor, smoke, carbon monoxide, and other gases.
